What are the Cross Border VAT Changes?

As of 1 January 2010 it will be a legislative requirement for a UK VAT registered business to declare any intra-EC services that they supply to a VAT registered customer in the EC on the EC Sales List (ESL – VAT 101 form). Broadly speaking, the EU Legislation changes affect the following businesses:

•    UK businesses that supply services to EU member countries are now required to submit details of the service on the EC Sales List
•    UK businesses that receive services from EU member countries will need to account for the service and update their VAT Return using the rules of the new legislation (Reverse Charge)
•    UK businesses required to submit ESL (EC Sales Lists) must agree with HMRC whether they need to commit returns for Services on a monthly or quarterly basis

What do I need to do?

Click on the accounting system relevant to you.

All Opera II (+sql) users with an EC VAT module will need to upgrade to Version 6.72, as the XML file structure has changed.  Please note that users cannot upgrade to this release until they have submitted their EC Sales List declaration for the calendar quarter ending September 2009.  All AngelCare customers with the EC VAT module should have been contacted by now, if you are concerned or have not been contacted please call the team on 01923 470899 or support@angeltech.it

All Opera users with an EC VAT module will need to upgrade to Version 3.71, as the XML file structure has changed.  Please note that users cannot upgrade to this release until they have submitted their EC Sales List declaration for the calendar quarter ending September 2009.  All AngelCare customers with the EC VAT module should have been contacted by now, if you are concerned or have not been contacted please call the team on 01923 470899 or support@angeltech.it

Pegasus have taken the decision to withdraw support for Windows 2000 Server and Windows 2000 Professional for Capital Gold Payroll and Opera II with the 2009/10 Payroll Upgrade. Support for all other Pegasus products on these platforms will also be withdrawn from 1 July 2010.
